Effective Date: April 2, 2026
VMCSoft ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how AeroWiFi: Network Analyzer (the "App") handles information, permissions, and device data.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. What AeroWiFi Does
AeroWiFi is a WiFi analysis tool designed to help you inspect nearby wireless networks and understand your current connection. The App may:
- Scan nearby WiFi networks and display a live list of access points.
- Filter networks by band and sort scan results.
- Show signal graphs and spectrum-style visualizations.
- Recommend a better WiFi channel based on observed nearby networks.
- Display current connection details such as SSID, BSSID, IP address, gateway, DNS, link speed, channel, security, and WiFi standard.
- Show a detail page for individual access points.
- Store app settings such as scan interval, hidden network display, signal units, and theme preferences.
2. Information We Access
A. WiFi Scan Results and Nearby Access Points
When you use WiFi scanning features, the App accesses information made available by Android and your device's WiFi hardware, which may include network names (SSID), hardware identifiers (BSSID), signal strength, frequency/channel, band, security capabilities, and other technical characteristics of nearby access points.
B. Current Connection Information
The App may display information about your current connection, including SSID, BSSID, IP address, gateway, DNS servers, link speed, channel, security type, and supported WiFi standard, when available from the Android operating system.
C. App Settings
The App may store your preferences locally on your device, such as scan interval, whether hidden networks are shown, signal units, and theme settings.
D. Personal Information
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number through the App itself.
3. Permissions Used by the App
AeroWiFi uses Android permissions to provide its WiFi analysis features. These permissions may include:
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Required by Android to obtain WiFi scan results and access certain SSID-related information.
- NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES: Required on Android 13 and above for WiFi scanning features.
- ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Allows the App to read WiFi state and connection information.
- CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: Allows the App to trigger WiFi scans where supported by Android.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Allows the App to read network connection state.
Important: ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE, and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE are normal permissions that are typically granted automatically by Android. The main runtime permissions you may be asked to grant are ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and, on Android 13 and above, NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES.
4. How We Use This Information
The information accessed by the App is used only to provide its core functionality on your device, including:
- Displaying nearby WiFi access points and signal data.
- Generating graphs, spectrum-style views, and channel recommendations.
- Showing your current connection details.
- Saving your settings and preferences locally.
5. Data Sharing and Transmission
We do not sell your personal information. AeroWiFi is designed to operate primarily on your device, and we do not claim ownership of the WiFi data shown in the App.
To the extent the App does not include a backend service operated by VMCSoft, WiFi scan results, connection details, and your settings are processed locally on your device. If diagnostic, app store, or operating system services are used by your device or app distribution platform, those services may process limited technical information under their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Diagnostics and Crash Information
The App may rely on standard Android or app store diagnostic mechanisms to help identify crashes and stability issues. If such reports are generated, they may include technical information such as device model, Android version, and crash stack traces. We recommend that you review the privacy terms of your device platform and app distribution provider for more information.
7. Device and Hardware Requirements
AeroWiFi requires compatible WiFi hardware on your device. Some features may be unavailable or limited depending on your Android version, device manufacturer, hardware capabilities, location settings, or system restrictions imposed by Android.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page with a revised effective date.
