1. What AeroNet Does
AeroNet is an Android network speed test application. The App may:
- Measure latency, jitter, download speed, and upload speed.
- Show live test progress while a speed test is running.
- Contact the AeroNet backend to coordinate speed tests, including requesting temporary download URLs and opening WebSocket connections where needed.
- Save past speed test results in an on-device history screen with detailed metrics and test settings.
2. Information the App Uses
A. Network Test Data
When you run a speed test, the App processes technical data required to perform and display the test, which may include latency, jitter, download speed, upload speed, timestamps, progress data, and test configuration details.
B. Connection State Information
The App may read whether your device is online and whether the active connection is WiFi, cellular, or Ethernet so that it can run tests appropriately and present connection context in the user interface.
C. Test History Stored on Your Device
The App may store your past test results and related settings locally on your device so you can review previous measurements in the history screen.
D. Personal Information
We do not require you to create an account, and the App does not request permissions for contacts, camera, microphone, photos/files, phone number, or location.
3. Permissions Used by the App
AeroNet requests only the following Android permissions:
- INTERNET: Required to contact the AeroNet backend, open WebSocket connections, request temporary download URLs, and run upload/download speed tests.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to detect whether the device is online and whether the connection is WiFi, cellular, or Ethernet.
Important: The App does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos/files, or phone number permissions.
4. How We Use This Information
The information accessed or generated by the App is used to provide its core functionality, including:
- Running network speed tests.
- Displaying live progress and test metrics.
- Determining connection type and online state.
- Saving your test history locally on your device.
5. Backend Communication and Data Handling
AeroNet communicates with the AeroNet backend in order to run speed tests. This may include opening network connections, requesting temporary resources used during the test, and exchanging the technical data needed to measure network performance.
We do not sell your personal information. If backend systems process speed test traffic or related technical metadata in order to provide the service, such processing is limited to operating, securing, and improving the speed testing functionality.
6. Local Storage
Your speed test history and related test details are intended to be stored locally on your device for your convenience unless otherwise stated in the App.
7. Diagnostics and Crash Information
The App may rely on standard Android or app store diagnostic mechanisms to help identify crashes and stability issues. If such reports are generated, they may include technical information such as device model, Android version, and crash stack traces.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
